Kodiaks Unleash Offensive Firepower in Commanding Home Win

The Cambridge Kodiaks put on a sensational display in front of their home crowd on Saturday night, delivering a commanding 17–2 victory over Streatham Storm

The Cambridge Kodiaks delivered a statement performance on home ice, overpowering Streatham Storm with a commanding 17–2 victory this Saturday.

After an early Storm goal just six seconds in, the Kodiaks flipped the switch — erupting for seven first-period goals and never looking back. Cambridge controlled the tempo, moved the puck with confidence, and capitalised on their chances throughout the night.

The offence was relentless, with four Kodiaks recording hat-tricks, and standout performances from Josie Milton, Chloe Carter, Saara Karvonen, and Scarlett Shelton. Contributions came from all over the lineup, showcasing the team’s depth, chemistry, and attacking firepower.

Strong defensive play and disciplined penalty killing kept Storm at bay, while the Kodiaks continued to press and pile on goals through the second and third periods. By the final buzzer, Cambridge had firmly stamped their authority on the game.

A dominant team performance from the Kodiaks as they defended home ice in style.

About Us

The first ever Cambridge Women’s ice hockey team

The Cambridge Kodiaks are the first ever women’s ice hockey team in Cambridge based at the Cambridge Ice Arena on Newmarket Road. We are also the first ever Cambridge City team to be playing in the EIHA (English Ice Hockey Association) league. The team was founded by George Alley, Kirsty Bard and Tracy Nichols.

Ice hockey is a very male dominated sport and we are working as hard as we can to change this outlook on ice hockey. We want to empower women to take part in sport and play one of the fastest paced game in the world. We are proud to say we now have two compeetitive league teams, with our top team playing in the WNIHL1 South league and our newest team representing in WNIHL2 Elizabeth South.

Ready to be a Part of Kodiak History?

This is a historic moment for Cambridge City and women’s sports and we would love you to be part of making history. Ice hockey is a male dominated sport and we are working hard to change that. We want to empower women to take part in sport and play one of the fastest paced games in the world.

But we need your help to do it.

We have a number of volunteer positions and sponsorship options that provide plenty of opportunities to get involved and help make Kodiak history.  As the first Cambridge Senior team we are also looking to be highly involved in the community and give back to those around us. If you’re a member of a charity or group that is looking for volunteers and would like to have the Kodiaks involved please reach out.
