Kodiaks Roar into the new year with a Hard-Fought Win Over Cobras

The Cambridge Kodiaks made another away rink their own, battling past the Cobras with a 7–5 victory that showcased composure, firepower, and serious road grit.

Cambridge started with confidence and intent, refusing to be unsettled by the away environment. After conceding early, the Kodiaks hit back fast — three unanswered goals swung momentum and put the visitors firmly in control.

Fast Response, Relentless Pressure

Alicia Anderson sparked the comeback before Christina Ashley battled through to add a second, as the Kodiaks punished defensive lapses with hard work. Anderson then struck again to cap a dominant spell and underline Cambridge’s attacking depth.

The Cobras responded late in the period, but the Kodiaks stayed locked in, carrying belief and a narrow lead into the break.

Two-Way Grit

The second period was intense and physical, with chances at both ends. Rachel Holland extended the lead with a beautiful top shelf goal, but sustained pressure saw the Cobras slither back to level terms.

Once again, the Kodiaks delivered when it mattered. With only 7 seconds left in the period, Saara Karovenen initiated a play that saw a beautiful cross crease pass from Chloe Carter finished off by Anderson to complete her hat trick. It was a perfect end to the period, restoring the lead and swinging momentum back Cambridge’s way heading into the final period.

Closing It Out, Kodiak Style

The Kodiaks wasted no time stamping authority in the third. Viv McGee converted with a ripper on the powerplay before Scarlett Shelton finished a slick passing move to stretch the lead further.

From there, Cambridge shut the door. Strong penalty killing, disciplined defence, and never quitting absorbed late pressure and silenced the home crowd.Another rink conquered. Another statement made. The Kodiaks continue to prove that no matter the venue, they bring the fight.
