Sponsorship
become part of the action
Women’s ice hockey is gaining traction. Join the Kodiaks as we continue to make history and push our sport to its limits. Below you’ll find key essentials, main packages, and other ways to get involved. For more information, or to register your interest please reach out today!
Essentials
Essentials are the everyday items we need to perform our best.
Essentials Sponsorship Includes:
- Practice ice time
- Game ice time
- First aid kits
- Locker room supplies (sock tape, stick tape, wax, game snacks, sanitary products, etc…)
- Pucks
- Training jerseys
- Watter bottles
Help with these items not only takes finiancial strain off our players, staff, and volunteers, it gives us the chance to focus on our game and training.
Travel
Travel is a huge expense for both players and staff. At present many of our players travel for over an hour and a half each way (with our head coach travelling 2 hours each way), in addition to travel expenses to away games, and playoffs which can take us across the country.
Travel Sponsorship includes:
- Player and staff training travel
- Player and staff home game travel
- Team away game travel
As a travel sponsor, you’re directly contributing to a major obstacle for our team members.
Team
As the first senior league team in Cambridge, we are excited to bring onboard key team sponsors to help promote the game and keep us safe on the ice.
Team sponsorship includes:
- Jerseys (home and away)
- Short covers
- Helmets
- Gloves
- Kit bag
- Off-ice gear
Team sponsors are a huge part of the Kodiaks family. Every public outing, post, and promo we do is made possible by (and will feature) our team sponsors.
Off Ice
On ice training is only a part of our success. Making sure we are fit and able to give 100% everytime we step on the ice requires off-ice dedication and training.
Currently we run our own off ice sessions, using what we can to make it work. An off-ice sponsor would enable us to take our training to the next level, providing everyone with equal access to training tools (such as gym access, of ice shooting aids, and a safe space to train).
Full Package
If you’re looking to make an impact and support women in sport why not come on board as our Title sponsor?
Our Title sponsor would take on the roll of providing funds for the Essentials, Travel, Team, and Off-Ice needs.
With the full package we would only have one title sponsor that would be placed in the spotlight as our Kodiaks partner and a crucial part of our team.
Community
Hoping to make a contribution to your community? Want to help us give back?
As a community sponsor you’d be on the front line of driving our community outreach and allowing us to give back.
Each season we aim to help different charities and groups in need through community events, funding dedication, and providing hands on volunteers form our team and staff.
About the Kodiaks
Women’s ice hockey in cambridge
The Kodiaks are the first ever women’s ice hockey team in Cambridge based at the Cambridge Ice Arena on Newmarket Road. We are also the first Cambridge City team to be playing in the EIHA (English Ice Hockey Association) league.
Ice hockey is a male dominated sport and we are working hard to change this outlook. We want to empower women to take part and play one of the fastest paced games in the world.
As a new team we are starting at the beginning. We spent our first season getting grounded and now we are looking to up our game even more . Currently, players and coaches individually cover the costs for everything in our league. Over the past year ice time costs have risen, alongside our registration fees. Additionally, players and coaches travel sometimes as far as 2 hrs via train, car, and bus just to get to training sessions. We make a lot of sacrificesd to play the game we love and represent Cambridge.
In our inaugural season we defied expectations, losing only 2 regular season games, placing second in the league, and earning a coveted playoff spot. We were also the first womens team to charge door prices for home games. A feat most said would lose us spectators. They were wrong. The Kodiaks drew in over 200 spectators for their season opener alone, and the hype has grown ever since.
We would love for you to join us on our historic journey, support women in sport, and get involved with the Cambridge community.
Volunteer
Get Hands On
There is a lot that goes into running our team and our volunteers are what make it all come together. Whether you’re looking to get involved during gamedays (running the scoreboard, goal judge, DJ anyone?), or wanting to help out behind the scenes (social media, website, essentials coordination) there is something for everyone. So roll up your sleeves, join in, and become immersed in the world of Ice Hockey. We’d love to have you with us!
